73 Questions with Gina Rodriguez

Gina Rodriguez throws a mean left hook—and a right—in Vogue’s visit to her Los Angeles apartment for our latest 73 Questions installment. The 33-year-old Jane the Virgin actress also tells us whose closet she would most like to raid, her go-to room service order, and what the Hollywood of the future will look like (“The America I see every day”).

We get a few salsa moves, too—naturally, since Gina started dancing professionally at 7—and a little love for Betty White. Her rap name? “Cuts.” Most tantalizing are the projects this hard-working actress has on the way: Annihilation (“You’re going to see things you’ve never seen before in your life”); an animated Carmen Sandiego series for Netflix; and her first turn in the director’s chair on Jane the Virgin (season four drops next month).Best of all is her holiday love for the people of Puerto Rico and her one-word prescription for what we need to talk more about in 2018: “Empathy.” Yes, please.
